Sheet for Refrigerators (Liner)

For refrigerators Polystyrene goes into the Liners and the internal components. The Liner is made from an extruded sheet, which is thermoformed and foamed. Extrusion grades are to be used with excellent physical properties and processibility. When selecting extrusion grades, one has to take into account post-processing operations, such as vacuum forming and Polyurethane foaming in order to get a uniformly drawn stable refrigerator Liner. The Raw material used has to withstand the various environments like the blowing and cleaning agents during the foaming process and the other various food items that the Liner comes in contact with during the extended application period where it is used. In the past, CFC - proof ABS was mostly used, but the World over, for competitive pricing, is switching over to HIPS grades, which is on the increase. This has brought about a development of Environmental Stress Crack resistant ( ESCR ) grade to meet the application demand.

LGPI ESCR grade HIPS, with its Good mechanical & physical properties, with excellent ESCR properties meeting the stringent quality requirement of the refrigerator Industry offers the most suitable ESCR grade for Extrusion. LGH 309 with its high chemical resistance meant specifically for R-11, HCFC-141b & Cyclopentane make it the extrusion grade fit for the wide range of Direct Cool and Frost Free New generation refrigerators.

POCKET / SHELF / VEGETABLE BOX

Shelves and vegetable boxes of large refrigerator are mostly made of reinforced glass, but small and medium-sized refrigerators utilize HIPS and GPPS catering to the opaque and transparent application requirement respectively. The Crisper Tray or more popularly known as the Vegetable basket, due to its vigorous handling in daily usage, is considered to the most critical component of the Refrigerator internals, requiring clarity, strength and stability. LGPI GPPS and HIPS for refrigerator components, with their excellent desired properties can maintain the appearance and performance of the refrigerator at an optimal level.
